Slinger Truck Services

Delivering backfill material to a construction site with a conveyor belt, caution tape, and construction materials, in an urban setting.
A construction site with a large blue stone slinger truck on a dirt road, adjacent to a partially built concrete structure with insulation panels, surrounded by forest and power lines in Whistler, BC.

A slinger truck, often called a stone slinger, is a conveyor-equipped truck that moves and “slings” material out from the back of the truck to where it’s needed. Instead of dumping material in one pile, it spreads gravel, sand, soil, or drain rock across distance with controlled flow and direction.

This makes it a faster and more efficient way to place material, especially on sites where access or time is limited.

With ground control, the operator steps out of the cab and guides the placement remotely, walking the site and adjusting in real time. This allows for far greater accuracy around foundations, driveways, landscaping features, and tight spaces.

The result is less manual handling, fewer crew hours, and a cleaner, more controlled job site. Whether it’s backfilling, base prep, or landscaping, a stone slinger keeps the work moving while reducing the effort required to get it done.
